U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said Saturday that turning the wall issue to the International Court of Justice was inappropriate, and that the court ruling was not binding.

While stressing that Washington was not satisfied with the wall route, Powell said that Israel has proved that the wall has managed to reduce infiltration into Israel.

Powell also noted that Israel was sensitive to the U.S. position that the wall must not be used to predetermine its permanent borders.

New York’s senators Hillary Clinton and Charles Schumer joined Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Gillerman, in front of UN headquarters on Friday to denounce the ICJ ruling.

‘It makes no sense for the United Nations to vehemently oppose a fence which is a non-violent response to terrorism rather than opposing terrorism itself,’ Clinton said to a crowd of about 100 people.

Source in the PLO office in Washington commented by saying ‘Senator Clinton need to check how non-violent the wall is, hope she does that looking from a Palestinian villager home window’
