In a rare admittance of the use of the so-called 'Hannibal Directive', in which Israeli soldiers kill their fellow soldiers to avoid their capture, an Israeli military officer admitted in an interview with the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahranoth that he ordered a mass bombardment of parts of Rafah during the Israeli invasion, last month, in order to ensure the death of an Israeli soldier who he believed had been captured. read full story / add a comment

In targeting hospitals during the recent 50-day long assault on Gaza, Israeli officials repeatedly claimed that Palestinian resistance fighters were hiding in hospitals, using hospitals to store weapons or actually firing from hospitals. But when pressed for evidence, the officials were able to produce nothing during the entire 50 days but a short video clip claiming to show fighters at Al Wafa hospital. read full story / add a comment
