During an anti settlement construction freeze rally, scores of Israeli settlers hurled, on Wednesday, stones at Palestinian cars in northern West Bank. No injuries were reported but some cares sustained damage, witnesses reported. Leading the settlers protest were the Mayor of Elon Moreh Avi Naim in addition to Head Rabbi of the settlement, Elyakim Levanon. Naim was arrested by the Israeli police along with other settlers for closing the military checkpoint. The 10-month settlement freeze declared by the Israeli government last week sparked wide criticism from the right wing in Israel who described the settlement freeze decision as anti-Zionist. This week the Israeli Civil Administration inspectors toured West Bank settlements and handed the freeze orders to settlers. This was meet with protest and in some cases attacks on the Israeli police and nearby Palestinian villagers and their propriety.
