Minors arrested in Jerusalem & Bethlehem

Israeli forces raided, on Sunday, a number of homes in the northern and southern West Bank, set up checkpoints and summoned individuals for interrogation, according to security sources.

The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) has reported that forces have raided and searched homes in Idna, Sair and al-Hawooz neighborhood of Hebron.

A number of people were served with orders to appear before the Israeli security service for interrogation.

Military checkpoints were also set up at the northern entrance of Hebron and on the road linking Dura and al-Fawwar refugee camp, where soldiers stopped passing vehicles and checked ID cards.

Futthermore, forces raided homes in the village of Anza, in northern West Bank area of Jenin, and served a 27-year-old man with a summons to appear before the security service.

Soldiers also set up military checkpoints at the entrance of Arraba, Anza and Azzaweya, inspecting vehicles and checking IDs.

Clashes erupted between high school students and Israeli forces when soldiers raided the village of Urif, to the south of Nablus, according to local activists.

Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activities in the northern West Bank, said that the army raided the village in an attempt to arrest students but were unable to do so, as villagers confronted them in defense of their children.

In related news, WAFA also reports that Israeli police have arrested seven people, including five minors, from Shufat refugee camp in Jerusalem.

Mohammad Mahmoud, an attorney with Addameer, a support group for prisoners, said that police raided Shufat camp, arresting four minors ranging, in age, between 14 and 16 years old. The minors were taken to the Russian compound police station for interrogation.

Meanwhile, in Bethlehem, to the south of Jerusalem, Israeli forces arrested a 17-year-old minor from the city and two other people, aged 21 and 20, from Aida refugee camp and Doha.
