Local sources have reported that a number of armored Israeli military jeeps, and two military D9 bulldozers, invaded the village after surrounding it, and demolished the homes and structures.

Jericho Governor, Majed Al-Fityani, denounced the Israeli attack, and said that it falls under a systematic policy against the Palestinian and their property.

The Governor added that the latest violation is another direct indication that Israel is not interested in peace and stability in the region.

Jericho city was the first Palestinian city in the West Bank that the army withdrew from as part of the “Gaza-Jericho First” agreement signed between Israel and the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) on May 4 1994, as a follow-up treaty for the “Oslo 1 Peace Agreement” signed on 13 September 1993.

The agreement led to a limited withdrawal of the Israeli army from the cities of Gaza and Jericho, without a withdrawal from nearby towns and villages, and without granting the P.A full security and civil “control” over the two districts.
