An emergency meeting of the Arab foreign ministers is due to be held on Wednesday in Cairo, to discuss latest Palestinian developments. Secretary of Arab states league, Mr. Amr Mousa, had stated " the Israeli siege being imposed on Gaza will be a part of the upcoming meeting's agenda, as a humanitarian crisis in the Strip is looming" Palestine will be represented by head of the negotiations department of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Mr. Saeb Eriqat, with the ruling Hamas party in Gaza excluded. Sources at the Arab league hinted that such a convention might take a couple of days , before taking any decisions. Today's meeting comes in the backdrop of a failed Palestinian-Israeli peace process, a failed national unity dialogue between the rival Hamas and Fatah parties, as well as Israeli closure of the Gaza Strip. |
