The slain young Palestinian has been identified as Samir Ahmad Abdul-Rahim, 17. He was shot as he and his schoolmates were leaving school.

Local sources reported that the army was heavily deployed in the school area, and repeatedly provoked dozens of students, an issue that led to clashes between the soldiers and some students.

The army then fired several rounds of live ammunition hitting Samir with several rounds to the head, chest and leg.

He was moved to a local hospital but succumbed to his serious injuries despite all attempts to save his life.
