Israeli soldiers kidnapped, on Wednesday at dawn, four Palestinians, former political prisoners, in the Beit Ummar town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron; several residents were wounded during clashes that took place with the invading soldiers.The soldiers broke into the home of Yousef Abu Maria, an activist with the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements, forced the family out in the cold for several hours, and violently searched the property causing excessive damage, before kidnapping him.

Media spokesperson of the Popular Committee, Mohammad Awad, stated that the army invaded several neighborhoods in the town, and kidnapped Yousef Abu Maria, Ehab Omar Musleh, 17, Eyad Omar Sabarna, 19, and Mohammad Zohdi ‘Aadi, 20.

The soldiers also invaded a local bakery and forced the workers onto the ground before searching them and the bakery.

Furthermore, the army fired several gas bombs at a number of homes in the town, in addition to firing gas bombs towards the local mosque; several residents were treated for the effects of teargas inhalation.

The attacks led to clashes with the local residents and the army fired more gas bombs, concussion grenades in addition to rubber-coated metal bullets.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers invaded several neighborhoods in Hebron city, and installed roadblocks at the entrances of the villages of Yatta, Doura, Sa’ir and Halhoul. Soldiers stopped and searched dozens of vehicles and interrogated several residents.
