Major US Retirement Fund Divests From Caterpillar
After a long campaign by human rights activists urging divestment from Israel, the US retirement fund TIAA-CREF has removed the Caterpillar corporation from its socially responsible investment fund, a divestment of $72 million from Caterpillar.
Caterpillar Corporation, based in Illinois, is a focus of the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) movement due to its sale of equipment used by Israel to demolish Palestinian homes.
