The Egyptian Ahram daily reported that the Egyptian Security Forces were tipped about “Palestinians entering Egypt illegally”, through the siege-busting tunnels along the border between Gaza and Egypt.

The two were detained at a roadblock in Baloutha area, north of Sinai.

They were identified as Bassam Mahmoud Baraka, 34, and Haitham Ibrahim Tafesh, 36. They were moved to an Egyptian security base for interrogation.

Dozens of Palestinians were previously arrested by Egypt for entering the country through the tunnels.
