Qalandia Refugee Camp Struggling Amidst Power Outages

Jerusalem Governor, Abudallah Siam, and the representative of the Jerusalem Electricity Company, held a meeting to discuss the repeated power outages in Qalandia Refugee camp, north of occupied East Jerusalem, and to try to find a solution ongoing technical and financial issues.

Siam stated that the meeting focused on the main issue at hand, in addition to the direct negative impacts inflicted on the residents, and their work, in the refugee camp.

He added that there is a great need to find fundamental solutions to the issue by addressing all financial and technical aspects that are causing these outages, and affecting the income and well-being on the residents.

Siam further stated that further meetings will be held in order to find a solution to the issue, and that stakeholders will be joining the meetings.
