author Tuesday January 31, 2012 22:23author by Circarre Parrhesia - IMEMC & Agencies Report post

Both the Ma'an News Agency and the Palestinian Authority’s news service, WAFA, have on Tuesday suffered from repeated attacks by hackers, leading to periods where their news sites have been inaccessible.

Comments from the agencies to the Associated Press, stated that they were unaware as to the source of the attacks, but they do follow recent digital scuffles between Israeli hackers and those that support Palestinians.

On Sunday the website of the National Assembly of Palestinian Martyrs Families, based in Ramallah, was hacked, and prior to this hackers had brought down websites of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, Israel's El-Al International Airlines, and the Hebrew language version of Israeli daily Haaretz..

Credit card details of Israelis have also been released, with Israeli hackers in turn released personal details, including Facebook log in details, of thousands of Arab's living in the region.
