author Thursday May 12, 2011 15:51author by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC & Agencies Report post

Palestinian sources reported on Wednesday evening that Israeli soldiers fired rounds of live ammunition at homes in Dir Al Balah, in central Gaza, and in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip; damage was reported, no injuries.

The sources added that the attack targeted homes in Abasan, east of Khan Younis, and in an area east of Dir Al Balah.

Furthermore, a number of military bulldozers invaded an area east of Gaza city and uprooted farmlands.

The Palestinians believe that the latest escalation aims at creating an armed conflict between resistance fighters in Gaza and the Israeli army in an attempt to foil the recently achieved unity agreement between Hamas and Fateh movements.

In other news, Palestinian medical sources in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, reported that a resident died of an electric shock at a siege-busting tunnel on the border with Egypt.
