6 Detained from Awarta

author Tuesday April 05, 2011 17:50author by Circarre Parrhesia - IMEMC & Agencies Report post

Six men were detained, Tuesday morning, in the village of Awarta, Ma'an News reports.

The six men's homes were raided, searched, and finally resulted in their detention. The group includes three brothers.

The detentions follow the repeated assaults upon the village of Awarta following the murder of five members of the Fogel family in the nearby settlement of Itamar.

Since the murders, several periods of curfew have been imposed on the village by the Israeli military, with over one hundred residents having been detained.

Last week the Israeli military entered the village, detaining 60 persons and taking DNA samples.
