During a press conference with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, Al Arabi said that he recently held talks with Ismail Haniyya, Prime Minister of the dissolved Hamas-led government in Gaza, Hamas’ Bureau Chief, Khalid Mashal, and Hamas’ political bureau member, Dr. Mahmoud Zahhar.

Hamas recently saluted the statements of Al Arabi when he demanded lifting the deadly siege imposed on Gaza since five years.

Under former President, Hosni Mubarak, Cairo played an important role in the siege as its sealed the Rafah border terminal between Gaza and Egypt.
