P.A. Security Arrest Three Hamas Members in Nablus

The Ma’an News Agency reported, on Friday, that Palestinian Authority security forces detained three members of the Hamas party in the West Bank in pre-dawn raids.

Hamas stated that the raids occurred in the north West Bank district of Nablus.

The raids have been a regular occurrence in both the West Bank, with the Fatah led P.A. detaining members of Hamas, and the Gaza Strip, where Hamas consolidated their 2006 election win, with victory in a violent internal conflict with Fatah in 2007.

These latest arrests come just days after Fatah rejected a new initiative for Palestinian political unity, proposed by Hamas.
