author Tuesday February 08, 2011 22:02author by Circarre Parrhesia - IMEMC & Agencies Report post

The Ma'an News Agency is reporting, on Tuesday, that a young man has been hospitalized by rubber coated steel bullet fire in the West Bank village of Beit Ummar, near Hebron.

Sources reported to Ma'an that the Israeli military entered the village shortly before midday, looking to arrest a resident of the village.

During the raid the young man, identified as Shadi Ahmad Ekhlayel, 18 years old, was shot by the military in the back, neck and hands, sending Ekhlayel to hospital in Hebron where he is being treated for moderate wounds.

Speaking to Ma'an, the Israeli military claimed that when conducting the arrest, they were faced by a group of 20 "rioters" and responded to "disperse them".
