Sabbine Haddad, a spokeswoman for the Israeli Ministry of Interior, stated Tuesday that French peace activist, Olivia Zamour, was detained at the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, and was denied entry to the country. Haddad said that Zamour was detained upon request of the Israeli security, and that she is currently detained at the airport awaiting deportation.

Israeli lawyer, Lea Tzemel, said that Zamour, head of the Euro-Palestine Friendship Society, managed to enter the country several times before without any issues.

Tzemel added that Zamour works for peace, and that Israel wants to deport her without presenting any legitimate excuse for this decision.
