In a step that was considered by Israel as an act of good will towards Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, Israel pardoned 75 Palestinians wanted by its army and security forces. The fighters are mainly members of the al-Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of Fatah movement.

Israel said that the pardon comes as an act of good will as Muslims are marking the Eid al-Adha Muslim feast.

Seven of the pardoned fighters are from Nablus. Israel said that certain fighters will be allowed to sleep at their homes, while other fighters were fully pardoned meaning that they can move around between Palestinian controlled areas.

All of the pardoned fighters have laid down their arms.
