An Israeli court decided to keep the imprisoned Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) in solitary confinement for an additional six months. Ahmad Sa'adat will remain in solitary confinement until April 21, 2011.

The PFLP said that this Israeli ruling is illegal and immoral, and is a continuation of Israel’s illegal policies against the detained leaders of different factions.

The PFLP added that solidarity campaigns will be holding a series of activities to challenge this illegal ruling that violates the International Law, and targets the steadfastness of the detainees and their leaders.

Sa'adat has been in solitary confinement for more than 500 days: his family has not been able to visit him.

Israel claims that Sa'adat organized the assassination of Israeli Tourism Minister, Rehavam Zeevi, who was killed by Palestinian gunmen on October 17, 2001.

Sa'adat was kidnapped by the Israeli army from the Jericho Prison on March 14, 2006. The prison was monitored by European and American guards who left the prison compound shortly before the army invaded it.
