The sources added that most of the residents suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Soldiers and policemen were intensively deployed at the entrances of the town, preventing the residents from entering or leaving.

Local sources said that the clashes extended to the neighborhoods of Batn al-Hawa, Wadi Hilwa and al-Bustan.

Hundreds of policemen were deployed in the areas while undercover forces also attacked the protestors and fired gas bombs at several homes.
