Anti-wall Protest In Ni'lin, Protesters Suffer Tear Gas Inhilation

The Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements in the village of Ni'lin, near Ramallah, organized their weekly nonviolent protest against the construction of the annexation wall on the village's land.

According to a press release by the committee, international peace activists joined the villagers in their protest and marched from the center of the village to the construction site of the wall.

Protesters carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans against the wall and settlements demanding the immediate removal of the wall and an end to the Israeli military occupation of Palestine.

Israeli troops stationed near the wall used tear gas to disperse the protesters causing a number of them to choke.

The residents of Ni'lin have been organizing weekly anti-wall protests since May of 2008. A few months ago the Israeli military declared the land where the wall is being built a closed military zone, to stop the protests by prohibiting the residents and international supporters to have access to these lands.
