According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), at approximately 02:00 on Tuesday, 13 July 2010, unknown persons riding a motorcycle threw a hand grenade into the building of YMCA in al-Jalaa' Street in the center of Gaza City.

Shrapnel from the grenade spread over the playground, but no casualties or damages were reported. The Palestinian police opened an investigation into the attack.

It is worth noting that this attack is the second of its kind against YMCA, as on 15 February 2008, unknown persons detonated explosives in its library.

PCHR strongly condemns this attack, which is a part of the state of security chaos
plaguing the OPT, and calls for investigating into the attack and publishing the results of investigation.
