Earlier on Friday at dawn, the Israeli Air Force fired carried several air strikes targeting areas in the southern and northern parts of the Gaza Strip.

The attacks targeted Beit Lahia and Jabalia, in northern Gaza, and at least two tunnels in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Army said that the bombarded areas include weapon storage facilities used by Palestinian resistance groups, and two tunnels in Rafah.

The army added that the shelling came in retaliation to ten mortars fired towards Israel.
