The Israeli Navy opened fire at Palestinian fishermen near the Beit Lahia coast, while Israeli tanks fired several shells at area in the north of the city, local sources reported Thursday. The sources added that Israeli Navy boats fired at fishing boats in Al Sudaniyya and Al Waha areas, west of Beit Lahia causing damage to fishing boats; no injuries were reported.

Furthermore, Israeli tanks fired several shells at farmlands in the northern part of the Gaza Strip; damage was reported, no injuries.

The shelling came shortly after the army dropped leaflets warning of a nearing attack on Gaza. The leaflets did not specify the nature of the upcoming attack.
