Residents of Jerusalem organized demonstrations at a number of locations in East Jerusalem to protest Israel’s decisions to enlist two holy sites in the West Bank under the so called Jewish Heritage National List.

Local youth hurled stones at police officers after they attack the protests organized at the old city and neighboring Palestinian neighborhoods, local sources reported.

Over the week end Israel’s decided to enlist the Ibrahimi Mosque, in Hebron city and Bilal Mouque, in Bethlehem city, both in southern West Bank under the so called Jewish Heritage National List.

The Ibrahimi Mosque, in Hebron, also known as the tomb of Patriarchs; as well as Bilal Mosque are believed to be holy sites by Muslems, Jews and Christians. Israeli Jewish settlers control the two sites and deny others access there.

Three Palestinians were injured on Monday when Israeli troops and settlers attacked Herbon residents who protest Israel’s decision.
