His statements came during a ceremony to thank the parliamentarians for their visit to the coastal region.

The visiting officials would be leaving the Gaza Strip later on Wednesday.

Deputy Head of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Dr. Ahmad Bahar, thanked the visiting officials and said that the release of Fateh prisoners comes in an effort to ensure the success of unity talks and reconciliation.

He added that all parties must act in order to prepare the atmosphere for reconciliation based on solid national interests.

The exact date for releasing the twenty prisoners was not set.
