The Egyptian security forces detonated, on Tuesday, a tunnel on the Gaza-Egypt border in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.Local sources reported that the Egyptian security forces located a tunnel that starts in Yibna refugee camp in Rafah.

Egypt recently located and detonated several tunnels across its borders with Gaza.

Tunnels became Gaza’s main source of goods and food stuffs due to the ongoing Israeli siege on the coastal region.

Egypt is currently constructing the Iron Wall on its border with Gaza. The wall is supervised and financially supported by the United States.

It goes deep underground to prevent the digging of tunnels across the border with Egypt.

The wall is planned to be 9 to 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) long, and will go as deep as 20 to 30 meters into the ground, Israeli paper Haaretz said.

The material used in the wall is huge slates of steel to make it impossible to cut through it or melt some of its sections.
