The Israeli military invaded early on Monday the West Bank refugee camp of Alfar'a, an outskirt of Tubas city, and detained several residents in other areas.

The attack on Alfar'a, according to witnesses, caused the injury of an old Palestinian woman as the soldiers fired tear gas canisters in the camp and broke into the woman's house.

The soldiers' actions across the camp were coincident with a comprehensive curfew on the area, preventing local residents from moving in and out of Alfar'a.

Governor of Tubas, Smi Msallam, described the Israeli offensive on the Alfar'a refugee camp as an Israeli criminal action that is meant to sabotage the Palestinian Authority's efforts to preserve security and order in the region.

More than 40 armored vehicles and at least 200 Israeli soldiers have been deployed through ought the refugee camp since the early hours of Monday.

Meanwhile, the Israeli troops swept into the Kufer Qoud village in the Jenin city and broke into residents' houses, as the soldiers opened heavy random fire in the area , with no causalities reported, Palestinian security sources reported.

In the meantime, security sources and witnesses confirmed that the Israeli military rounded up today about 15 Palestinian residents from different West Bank areas, including Ramallah and Qalqilia.

Israeli military attacks on the West Bank occur on daily basis, despite the deployment on Palestinian security forces, within the Palestinian Authority's drive to preserve order and security.

The Palestinian Authority and Israel have agreed , through American mediators, to cooperate in terms of security measures across the occupied West Bank.
