Noam Taifon, the Israeli Army commander in the occupied West Bank, and Yoav Mordachai, head of the so-called Civil Administration Office, met with Palestinian security officials to arrange the deployment of the security forces in the Hebron area.

Both sides agreed to deploy more than 500 security men who will join 700 members of the security forces who were already deployed in the area.

The security forces will start their routine activities in southern Hebron villages, and will later on deploy in the western side of Hebron as part of a security campaign. The forces will later resume normal activities in the area.

The newly deployed forces were trained by Lieutenant General Keith Dayton, the United States Security Coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority (P.A).

The security forces were supposed to be deployed in Hebron last week, but their deployment was postponed due to the Jewish feasts.
