The resident was identified as Tawfiq Abu Rjeila, 25, from Khuza'a town, east of Khan Younis. He was electrocuted by an exposed wire.

Medics managed to retrieve the body and transferred it to the European Hospital.

It is worth mentioning that 120 Palestinians, including 4 children, were killed in tunnel accidents in 2008 and 2009. Seven Palestinians were killed this year in tunnels targeted by the Israeli Air Force.
