Hamas: “Abbas’ Decision; Political Bankruptcy”

Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, stated that the speech on Abbas and his decision not to run for president is considered political bankruptcy.

Fawzi Barhoum, spokesperson of Hamas, said that Abbas is still betting on the American support and on the peace process with Israel, although this process, which started 16 years ago, did not achieve anything but ongoing failures.

He added that the speech should have called for real unity, and for support internal talks and reconciliation between Hamas and Fateh.

Barhoum further stated that Abbas’ speech was aggressive towards Hamas instead of calling for unity.
