Unconfirmed media sources reported Wednesday that a Palestinian woman attacked two Israeli soldiers by pouring chemical water onto their faces. The soldiers were holding scores of Palestinian citizens at the Hewara checkpoint in southern Nablus, when they were attacked. '

Israeli army sources stated that the woman left the scene after attacking the soldiers, despite the soldiers attempt to detain her by shooting rounds of bullets in the air and then chasing her.

The two soldiers were transferred to hospital for treatment and doctors described their injuries as light, the sources stated.

The Hewara checkpoint is one of more than 500 roadblocks and checkpoints, Israel is still placing across the West Bank. These Israeli measures have grossly hampered movement of the Palestinian population.

Many international bodies and dignitaries have criticized the checkpoints as 'disrupting the civil life of Palestinians' and contrary to International law regarding freedom of movement.
