Israel: “Goldstone report filled with lies”

author Thursday October 22, 2009 17:05author by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC & Agencies Report post

Israeli President, Shimon Peres, voiced another harsh condemnation to the report of Judge Richard Goldstone on Gaza war in the period between Dec 27. and Jan. 18.

Peres claimed that the report provides a platform for the Iranian president, Ahmmadinejad, to continue his threats to ‘annihilate Israel’.

The Israeli President described the report as ridiculous, and allowed Ahmmadinejad to stand like a judge.

Goldstone said in his lengthy report that both Israel and Hamas fighters committed war crimes during the war.

He called for referring the issue to the International Criminal Court at The Hague.

Peres told the U.S. United Nations envoy, Susan Rice, that this report is spreading lies, and that the United Nations should not be a platform for hatred.

Rice told Peres that Israel has the full support of the United States, and that her country will be the strong ally in the ‘fight against the report of judge Goldstone”.
