Two Settlers Wounded In Central West Bank

author Friday October 09, 2009 23:50author by IMEMC News Report post

Israeli sources reported that two settlers were wounded, one seriously, when Palestinian youths hurled stones at their vehicles while driving near the Tapuach Junction, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

The sources said that a 50-year old settler woman was wounded in her head while a man who was with her suffered mild injuries.

The stones apparently shattered the front windshield; Israeli paramedics arrived at the scene and evacuated the two to an Israeli hospital.

The medics said that the woman suffered a skull fracture.

Israeli soldiers launched a search campaign in the area. Israeli military sources stated that they believe the attackers fled to Sinjil village, near Ramallah.
