Abu Rodeina: “We did not ask UN to void Goldstone report”

author Friday October 02, 2009 19:12author by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC News Report post

Nabil Abu Rodeina, spokesperson of the Palestinian President, said that the Palestinian Authority did not ask the United Nations to void the Goldstone report on the Gaza war.

Goldstone Report

Abu Rodeina stated that Russia, the United States and Europe asked the Human Rights Council in Geneva to delay the UN session on the report.

He confirmed that the Palestinian Authority did not call for voiding, and withdrawing the report and its recommendations.

Meanwhile, Palestinian ambassador to the UN, Ibrahim Khreisah, told the Qatar-based Al Jazeera that he asked for delaying the discussion of the Goldstone report until guaranteeing a majority and not under pressure from the United States.

But Chief Palestinian Negotiator, Dr. Saeb Erekat, said that the conflicting reports of Israeli media agencies reflect chaos and lack of coordination and preparation for good reporting.
