Barak to meet Mubarak in Egypt on talks to free Shalit

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak will meet with the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Alexandria to discuss Egypt's efforts to broker a prisoner swap deal between Israel and Hamas; as reported by Haaretz newspaper.

Barak will meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Defense Minister Hussein Tantawi and Intelligence Minister Omar Suleiman. The main topics of discussion will include the truce with Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Egypt's role in restricting arms smuggling into Gaza. Barak will also meet with the Defense Minister Hussein Tantawi and Intelligence Minister Omar Suleiman, the head mediator in indirect talks between Israel and Hamas.
