author Tuesday August 19, 2008 14:29author by Rula Shahwan - IMEMC News Report this post to the editors

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will arrive in Jeddah on Tuesday afternoon to meet with King Abdullah Ibn Abdel Aziz, Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdel Aziz and Foreign Minister prince Saud Al-Faisal.

The meetings will be held to address bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia, Palestinian concerns, and broader regional issues.

Abbas's visit will be for a couple of hours only, to discuss the situation in Gaza, negotiations with Israel, the Palestinian internal political crisis and Abbas’ initiative for national unity

Saudi Arabia has a clear and defined attitude of working towards Palestinian national unity. Mecca’s agreement represents this attitude and is working towards ending the rift in Palestinian society.
