author Friday August 15, 2008 02:02author by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC News Report post

The Palestinian Center For Human Rights (PCHR) issued On Thursday a press release slamming the Israeli Court and it Military Prosecutor for clearing the tank crew who fired a shell at a Reuter vehicles four months ago and killed Reuter’s cameraman Fadel Shana’a and several other Palestinians in Al Boreij refugee camp, in the Central Gaza Strip, in April 2008.

The military prosecutor decided on Wednesday that the soldiers acted according to the military field manual.

The PCHR stated that this ruling reflects an ongoing “chronic failure” by Israel and its military in probing hundreds of crimes carried by the army against the civilians and reporters in the occupied territories.

The Center added that this ruling also stresses the need to resort to the International Court of Justice.

The PCHR said that since the outbreak of the Al Aqsa Intifada in September 2000, Israeli soldiers killed nine reporters, including two international reporters, and wounded 170 reporters and media people.
