Eyewitnesses reported that two Israeli military bulldozers and two tanks invaded the southern part of the city; troops patrolled the streets and searched and ransacked several houses.

Israeli military vehicles shot live rounds at random causing panicked evacuation by local Palestinian farmers.

This is the second time that the Israeli army has invaded Gaza since Egypt brokered a truce between Israel and the Palestinian authority last June.
