150 Palestinian prisoners in Israel to be released before September

150 Palestinian prisoners are to be released from Israeli prisons at the expected date of 25 August, though names have not yet been released. Local sources reported.

Minister of Prisoner Issues Ashraf Al-Ajrami reported on Saturday that the efforts to have the names released are till ongoing.

Al-Ajrami also reported that the agreement between the Palestinian Authority headed by President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert assured the release of the prisoners. Moreover He confirmed that the men will be released regardless of their political affiliation.

The release of the charismatic Fatah leader Marwan Al-Barghouthi, said Al-Ajrami, is still being negotiated.
