Hatem Abd Al Kader, the assistant to the Prime Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, reported that this is the third time Israeli settlers try to seize this house claiming that it belongs to them. Earlier, settlers set this house on fire in an attempt to demolish it.

Eye witnesses reported that dozens of Palestinians clashed with the Israeli settlers and the Israeli army came to the area and protected the settlers.

Israel has rarely issued construction permits for Palestinians living in Jerusalem since it occupied the city in 1967
