Three more patients die due to the ongoing Israeli siege on Gaza

Rami Abdo, spokesperson of the Popular Committee Against the Siege reported on Sunday that three more Palestinian patients in the Gaza Strip died on Sunday due to the ongoing Israeli siege on the coastal region.

Abdo quoted medical sources in Gaza confirming the deaths of three patients after they were barred from leaving the Gaza Strip for medical treatment in Egypt.

Abdo stated that resident Maher Mohammad Al Mabhooh, 43, from Jabalia in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, died of cancer.

His family stated that Israel barred his transfer to an Israeli hospital twice and after they managed to transfer his case to a hospital in Egypt they were unable to transfer him there due to the siege.

On Sunday morning, an elderly man died at a hospital in Gaza city after he was barred from leaving the Gaza Strip. Saleh Al Abed Al Arqan, from Al Shujaeyya, east of Gaza, died of cancer.

On Sunday afternoon, Mohammad Al Absy, 37, died of a kidney failure at a hospital in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Al Absy, a resident of Rafah had all papers ready and was scheduled for admission at a hospital in Egypt but was barred from leaving the Gaza Strip.

Medial sources in Gaza reported that at least 220 patients, including 46 children, died due to the ongoing siege in Gaza. On Thursday July 10, a ten-month old infant and a six-year old child died in Gaza. The 10-month old needed urgent medical treatment and the 6-year old died of a kidney failure.
