author Tuesday June 24, 2008 17:15author by Laila Ewaiwi - IMEMC & Aginces Report post

The Islamic resistance group Hamas emphasized that the assassination of the two Palestinians that took place today, June 24, in Nablus is yet one more crime the Israeli occupation commited against the Palestinian people.

Sami Abu Zuhri, the spokesman of the Hamas movement, declared in a statement, "the assassination that took place only highlights the fact that the problem lies not in the resistance, but in the Israeli occupation"

He also added that the movement will stay committed to the truce agreement, if Israel keeps their part of the deal, and called upon all those concerned to put pressure on Israel to end their crimes in the West Bank.

He also emphasized the role that the resistance movement has in the West Bank in responding to these attacks, demanding "the Palestinian security forces enable the resistance to exercise their role in protecting the Palestinian people."
