Palestinian medical sources reported in Wednesday morning that two Palestinian patients have died on Tuesday night due to the continued Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip.

File - 2007

Doctors said that Misbah Abed Al Shafee, 51, with a hart condition, and Samyiah Al Suftawi, 55, a cancer patient, died because both were not allowed by the Israeli army to leave the coastal region for medical care.

With those two patients dead, the number of the patients who died due to the Israeli siege on Gaza now stands at 153.

Israel has placed the Palestinian coastal enclave under total siege 11 months ago, Israeli says the rolling Hamas movement in Gaza must stop attacks on Israeli targets for the siege to be lifted. International and Israeli human right groups have deemed the siege as a policy of collective punishment, which is illegal under international law.
