PPC appeals medical treatment to a Palestinian detainee

The Palestinian Popular Committees issued a press release appealing Human Rights Groups and the International Red Cross to intervene and save the life of detainee Bassam Hafith, 38, who is facing a continuously deteriorating health conditions.

The Committees stated that the Israeli Prison Authority is neglecting his right to receive medical treatment since he was kidnapped by the army last year.

Human Rights Groups filed several appeals to transfer Hafith to a hospital but all appeals were rejected and his conditions is gradually declining.

Azmi Shiokhy, secretary-general of the Committees stated that Hafith have three other brothers who are also imprisoned by Israel since more than one year in addition to a fourth brother who was assassinated by the army.
