It is reported that Ali al Faqeeh aged 44, was previously in good health. He suffered the heart attack while waiting his turn to pass the checkpoint.

His brother has blamed the Israeli soldiers who were watching al Faqeeh laying on the ground, and presented no medical assistance and said that he was left lying on the ground and later died as Israeli soldiers called the ambulance when it was too late for medical treatment.
