Palestinian Legislator of the Hamas movement, previous Minister of Interior, Sa’id Siyam,  stated on Friday that Hamas-controlled security forces in the Gaza Strip arrested a resident who intended to carry a suicide bombing in Gaza in order to kill Hamas leader Ismail Haniyya while he was praying in a Gaza mosque.

Sa'id Siyam

In a press conference from his home in Gaza, Siyam presented pictures of the bomber and his last statement, and added that the bomber received orders from Tayyib Abdul-Rahim, and other main Fateh leaders in Ramallah, to detonate himself near Haniyya, and that Abdul-Rahim vowed to him that the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah will cover the finance expenses of his family and rebuild their home.

According to Siyam, the officials in charge of the plan are Ahmad Mansour, a Fateh leader from fled Gaza to Egypt, Thafir Abu Mathkour in Ramallah, and other Fateh members who fled their homes in the Gaza Strip after the Hamas takeover last summer.

He added that the leadership in Gaza will contact several Arab countries and hand them the tapes and confessions of Fateh members who conspired to harm and killed senior Hamas leaders such as Ismail Haniyya.
