Local sources reported that large forces of the Israeli army invaded the city from several directions and randomly opened heavy gun fire. Troops patrolled the city's streets, several neighborhoods and the city center.

Sources reported that the operation was most intensely concentrated in the Ras El Ein area and in the Balata refugee camp. Troops ransacked civilians' homes searching for wanted Palestinians on the Israeli army's wanted list and kidnapped seven people before making their withdrawal. Among those abducted were Abbas Fatayer, 24, his father Suleiman Fatayer, 50 and Iyad Habash, 32. The abductees were transferred to an undisclosed detention center.
