Musallam added that the ongoing constructions come in direct violation to the signed agreements between the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and Israel.

He stated that the Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are built on Palestinian lands illegally annexed by Israel in violation to security council resolutions 242, 338, the signed peace deals and the US-backed Road Map Plan.

He said that the first article of the Road Map Plan states that Israel should halt all of its settlement activities which includes refraining for expanding existing settlements.

Musallam voiced an appeal to the international community and the United States to practice pressure on Israel in order to abide by the singed agreements, especially since the Israel Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert and his government vowed to the US president George Bush, his secretary of state Condoleezza Rice , the Quartet Committee and the United Nations to implement all signed agreements.
